This Jewelry store has been in business in Ottawa since 1978. Being an iconic store and brand with great reputation has allowed them to expand. We were tasked to help design a store situated inside a busy mall. We were needed to create a design that would pay tribute to their brand yet be modern and stood out in the mall.
This Jewelry store has been in business in Ottawa since 1978. Being an iconic store and brand with great reputation has allowed them to expand. We were tasked to help design a store situated inside a busy mall. We were needed to create a design that would pay tribute to their brand yet be modern and stood out in the mall.
There are some important things to consider when designing for a Jeweller. Lighting is of utmost importance because it affects how the products are presented. So there is the overall store lighting and as well as the display case lighting that needs to be tended to. We decided to custom design all the jewellery display units so that the client could have a more streamlined and customized look. We opted to using cool wood laminate to lower the cost, contrasted with metal and glass elements. Custom designed Wallpaper was also used to add a human touch to an otherwise clean cool toned atmosphere.
We used a clean white and black veined marble theme for the storefront. The open design as well as the elegant material allows the store to standout in a busy mall.
Designing the all the display units from scratch was no easy task. The display units needed to be custom made for unique sets of jewellery that ranged in specific sizes and quantities. All the display units needed to have their own lighting and well as different layers of cushioning and presentation. On top of that, the design needs to be versatile and user friendly so that the store employees would be able to change the displays easily. Here is an example of how our designs look presented on technical drawings as well as our 3D renders.
